Platforms & Performance
LOD and texture settings for PC, Steam Deck and mobile.
LOD levels
Every main cliff prefab has three LOD levels:
- LOD0 – best quality
- LOD1 – medium optimization
- LOD2 – stronger optimization, for distant objects or lower-end platforms
By platform
PC
Use LOD0 for close-up assets and hero areas: it gives the best silhouette and surface detail.
Steam Deck
- LOD1 for most medium-distance cliffs
- LOD2 for background and far cliffs
- Textures around 2048 × 2048 or lower if needed
Mobile
- Use LOD1 or LOD2
- Reduce textures to 2048 × 2048 or 1024 × 1024
- Keep fewer large cliff modules on screen at the same time
- Prefer LOD2 for background cliffs and far decoration
The modules stay readable at lower LODs and texture sizes.
Textures
The pack uses stylized albedo and normal textures. In Unity they import at 2048 × 2048; the source files are 4096 × 4096, so you can raise the import size when the camera gets very close.
| Target | Texture size |
|---|---|
| High-end PC / close-up scenes | 2048 |
| Standard PC / Steam Deck | 2048 |
| Mobile / lower-end devices | 1024–2048 |
| Far background cliffs | 1024 or lower |
For most stylized projects 2048 is enough. Use 4096 only for very close cameras, screenshots, trailers or hero scenes.
Performance tips
- Keep the included LOD Groups.
- Use LOD0 only where the player sees assets up close.
- Use LOD1 or LOD2 for large scenes, background cliffs, Steam Deck and mobile.
- Lower the texture size on mobile and lower-end hardware.
- Turn off colliders on decorative cliffs without gameplay.
- Reuse the biome materials where you can.
- Build large structures from modules instead of many unique heavy objects.
